In January of 2018, fellowship family members, Jean and Allan Herman, travelled from Orillia, Ontario, to Israel. Allan and Jean did not go empty-handed to the holy city, rather, they entered Jerusalem bearing gifts! A few joined Jean in our group to prepare hand knitted goods, such as blankets, hats, sweaters, and scarves, to give to those in need. Once in Israel, Allan and Jean distributed the gifts, blessing the people and the land.
Honouring Tu B’Shevat in Israel (The New Year for Trees), both Jean and Allan dug their hands into the soil and literally fulfilled the first part of Leviticus 19:23: “When you come into the land, and have planted all kinds of trees for food…” (WEB). With gifts and servants hearts, they planted five trees on behalf of our family fellowship, for the benefit of the land and future generations. Thank you, Allan and Jean, may all of your efforts be blessed!
