On Shabbat August 11th, from 8am – 9am, we will be meeting at Wilkins Beach in Barrie, Ontario, for water immersion. Thereafter, we will be going to Aliyah Academy for Shabbat Service and a talk about the “Forty Days of Repentance.”
The eve of August 11th marks the beginning of the 6th Hebrew month, Elul. Counting “one” this particular evening brings one to the fortieth day as we exit Yom Kippur. Often referred to as the “Forty Days of Repentance,” it is an awesome time of devotion, reflection, and refreshing as we imitate our Lord’s forty-day meditation following his water immersion.
Acts 3:19-21 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
Therefore, repent and turn to God, so that your sins may be erased; 20 so that times of refreshing may come from the Lord’s presence; and he may send the Messiah appointed in advance for you, that is, Yeshua. 21 He has to remain in heaven until the time comes for restoring everything, as God said long ago, when he spoke through the holy prophets.
